Embrace Every Inch of You!

Women who are shedding too much body fat as they reach their forties, fifties and up, tend to look gaunt and older than their age. So the good news is, if you are carrying a little more weight than usual, you’ll look younger.
Even as a beauty expert and celebrity body parts model myself, women who meet me in person are very complimentary and ask my how I stay in shape. I am most grateful for their kind words. But what many women don’t know is that I am not the typical model weight or height. I am NOT 6 ft. tall, a size 2, or rake thin. I’m actually a curvy size 6, and UNDER 5’7″, and my weight fluctuates between 123 and 130 lbs. Though I am busy as beauty expert in the media, I STILL get calls from producers and directors to “double” my body parts for famous models and A-list celebrity beauties in close ups for commericals, movies and TV shows!! It’s better for me to be an EXTRA five to seven pounds over my orignal “model” weight, so my hands don’t look too bony. Also my hubby of 12 years loves my curves! 🙂 And that makes me feel even more beautiful!
For those of you who want to know how I keep my ” toned shape” I’ve noted a few of my top tips below:
– I walk 4 to 5 days a week (45 – 60 minutes), and on two of those days I carry a 5 lb. weight and do arms curls. When I return from my walk, I do 50 sit ups, and 25 push ups, then stretch.
On the two or three days that I don’t walk, I’ll do my “Under 30- Minute Model-Scultping Workout on DVD. It’s my personal workout, used throughout my career as a model. It incorporates weight resistance exercises and it’s not for wimps. After just one month, you’ll see amazing results doing my workout just three to four times a week
– For Breakfast: I usually eat 1/2 cup of cooked steel cuts oats (they take about 25 minutes to cook, but are better for you can regular rolled oats), topped with a 1/4 cup of Westsoy UNSWEETENED Vanilla Soy Milk, along with two fried egg whites. Or I’ll have a protein shake, filling a glass 3/4 full with frozen low-glycemic berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries), 1/4 of a banana, cold ionized water, and one scoop of Vanilla Designer Whey Protein. I alternate using soy protein too. I take mysupplements at breakfast: Omega-3 fish oil, and a packet of Vita-One Vitamins, loaded with vitmains, minerals, green foods, digestive enzymes and much more. You can find the Omega-3 and Vita-One information on the Vitamins/Supplements page on my web site.
If I want to lose a few extra pounds, I take my apple cider vinegar and garlic slimming tonic before my three meals of the day. See the slimming and health benefits of my tonic on my blog posted early in January. Just click onto “Older Posts“ and you’ll find it. If I’m travelling, and can’t take my slimming tonic, I substitute by taking Thermo Green Tea Capsules before breakfast and lunch only.
For Lunch: I’ll have tuna or salmon salad, or sliced chicken breast on one slice of toasted Ezekiel bread, topped with vine tomatoes, two thin slices of avocado, and romaine lettuce or some radicchio, with a side of pinto bean salad. I add Dijon mustard on the tuna or chicken breast open-faced sandwich. To make my easy and delicious pinto bean salad, open a can of organic pinto beans and drain. Pour the beans into a bowl, add one tbsp. of olive oil, and two tbsps. of apple cider vinegar and add salt and pepper to taste. That’s it – delicious. Makes 3 servings. I also take another Omega 3 fish oil capsule and if I’m having a busy day, I also take 200 mg.s of 5-HTP to help keep me calm and my mood uplifted. 5-HTP also reduces food cravings – it’s not a drug and is not habit-forming.
For Snacks: I’ll have 5 almonds and an apple. Or I’ll mix a tsp. of each: raw sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and flax seeds, to a single serving size of soy yogurt. Greek yogurt is also a good choice as it has more protein than regular yogurt. You can also chop up 1/2 an apple, and add flax seeds to Greek or soy yogurt.
For Dinner: One of my favorite meals is when my hubby makes lean meatballs with organic, lean ground beef and organic chicken or turkey sausage, chopped onion, Italian parsley, and some parmesan cheese. He bakes the balls and some baked spaghetti squash. We top the squash and balls with our home-made Italian vegetable spaghetti sauce. Delicious! And we have either a salad or some steamed broccoli, beans or artichokes – something GREEN with every dinner.
Other dinners include, tuna or salmon or sliced roasted or barbaqued chicken breast, or turkey breast on a green salad.
All of our dinners usually include a dinner salad made of organic romaine lettuce, black olives, a little vine-ripened tomato, green onions and sometimes we add some feta cheese or shaved parmesan. For the most part, we dress our salads with 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil and 2-3 tbsp. apple cider vinegar dressing, sea salt and pepper.
My hubby also makes garlic olive oil. He squeezes a couple of garlic cloves into some extra virgin olive oil and keep it in a small jar in the fridge. We drizzle a little of the garlic/olive oil onto our salads, pr veggies such as broccoli or green beans. When I’m in the mood for Caesar or Ranch Dressing, I choose “REAL” dressing, and place 1/2 tsp. on the side of my plate. Before each bite of salad, I dip my fork into the “creamy” dressing and then into my salad. That way I eat less fat, and every bite of salad has the dressing on it.
Every Friday we go out to dinner or lunch and we split two entres and one dessert. I also have a soy capuccino with my dessert.
I have many more nutrition and delicious, but sensibel eating tips in my soon to come, Slimming Secrets book. I’ll keep you posted when it’s ready for publishing. I’m currently looking for a major publisher for this book and others, so if you know one, please let me know. Thanks!
