Four Tips that Keep Blemishes in Check

Four tips that help keep blemishes in check are:

1.Exfoliate (slough off skin) regularly to prevent plugged pores and blemishes. Exfoliate using Microdermabrasion Scrub (it’s paraben-free) or scrub with a little baking soda. After cleansing, while face is still wet, grab a handful of baking soda and gently scrub face in a circular motion. Then rinse. Do not use scrubs if you have rosacea. Instead, use an exfoliating cleanser like Glycolic Cleanser with marine plant extracts. .

2. Consuming zinc and soy-rich foods can help prevent blemishes and acne. Zinc-rich foods include eggs, liver, seafood, turkey, pork, mushrooms and milk. Soy-rich foods include soy milk (have a soy latte), soy yogurt, soy nuts, soybeans, soy cheese and tofu. You can also apply zinc ointment to blemishes at night before bed.

3. Dandellion root (tea) has been known to help purify the blood, which can help clear or prevent blemishes. Find it at a health food store.

4. Chlorella, a toxin-fighter and immune booster, is loaded with skin clearing and rminerals, chlorophyl and algae. When taken internally, it can help balance hormones, clear acne, makes hair shiny, uplifts energy and mood, freshens breath and helps keep your system regular. It’s also rejuvenates the skin and body. Just take 5-10 “pellets” after each meal of the day. Find Chlorella by Source Naturals at the health food store.
