My Coffee Grounds Beauty Mask

One of my favorite  beauty secrets is my coffee grounds mask.  Coffee grounds keep my complexion looking more youthful and flawless.  A cup of coffee contains well over 300 antioxidants and 100’s of polyphenols that can help provide many health benefits. But did you know that the grounds left from making your morning brew can help improve and protect your skin from aging?

So don’t throw away those precious “skin repair & rejuvenating” grounds. Use them to:

–  exfoliate skin,

–  help prevent and diminish fine lines and wrinkles,

–  balance the pH of skin (great for those with acne or blemish-prone skin),

–  pull toxins from the skin,

–  and help moisturize.

Below is my Coffee Grounds Beauty Mask Recipe:

After making your morning cup of java, allow the grounds to cool to room temperature.  Place a piece of newspaper or paper towel in the sink basin to prevent grounds from going down your drain. While standing over the basin, grab a handful of grounds and gently rub them in a circular motion (for about 30 seconds) on clean, washed face and  neck.  Apply onto tops of hands too. Much of the grounds will fall off, but the antioxidant-rich residue will work its age-proofing magic when left on  skin  for 10  minutes. Remove soiled newspaper from basin, and then rinse skin with tepid water. Next tone skin  using an alcohol-free toner followed by your moisturizer.

    • Hi Bridget: A suggestion for stretch marks is to exfoliate the area every other day using either the baking soda or the Microdermabrasion Scrub I’ve mentioned before. Also a great topical product for stretch marks is Scar Gel. It helps the reddish, purple marks return to flesh color, helps soften and smooth the stretch marks and it’s all-natural, paraben and fragrance-free. Scar Gel does not stain clothes and it’s under $20 at my web site Apply it twice daily (both AM and PM). You should see results in three months. Scar Gel is great for post surgical incisions, cuts, wounds and dog and bug bites.
