Slimming Tips that Work!

Still struggling to lose those extra holiday pounds? Below are some helpful slimming tips that have helped me, and I hope will encourage you to help to keep on track.

NOTE: If you have any health concerns, check with your physician before engaging in diet changes, supplements or exercise.

1.        Keep a water bottle with you at all times and drink from it often. Cold water burn more calories and also help you drop more fat. Don’t enjoy plain water? Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to your water bottle. Be sure to read bottled water labels as some brands contain sodium.

2.        Exercising with a friend or asking a neighbor to walk with you a few mornings each week or evenings, after dinner, will ensure that you get regular exercise.

3.        Eat well-balanced meals and remember that excessive calories, even if they are low fat or high protein  will turn to excess weight. Keep a daily log of what you’re actually eating. Jotting down evey bite you consume – from eating the rest of your child’s meal and all snacks. As you read your daily intake, you’ll soon spot why you’re not dropping weight.

5.        Avoid monotony when you do your workout.  Walk to different areas in your neighborhood or when doing arrands. 6.       Did you know that exercising 45 minutes three times a week maintains weight? To lose weight be sure to increase your 45 minute workout to, five or six days a week.   

7.      Look at exercise as a pleasure and privilege and DON’T compare your body to other people’s. Marilyn Monroe is still consdered one of the most beautiful women in the world  and she was a size 14. So love every inch of who your are now and work to be your personal best. Exercise helps give you an uplifted feeling. But feeling positive also begins with your thoughts, which manifest on the outside. 8.        If your diet is unbalanced, work to balance it, and incorporate daily vitamins, minerals and omega 3’s (with your meals) for total health.  I like Vita-One packets as they contain all I need for the day. 9.        Stick with eating plans you can maintain indefinitely. Remember that no matter how hard you’re working out, if you’re consuming too many calories, you’ll never see the muscles that lie beneath the layers of fatty tissue.
